Thank goodness for DIYSOS recently. It's not getting MY extension done - subtle hint to the team Develish - but it's got the type of humour that we need at 9 o'clock in the evening.
Thanks Smile

If you cannot fit in a visit to Lincoln Cathedral during the daytime, don't worry it's even more impressive, lit up, at night. Cool

Lincoln Cathedral cannot be missed when you visit Lincoln. If missed by day, it is beauifully lit up at night.
Magnificent

It is impossible to come to Lincoln without seeing, or visiting, Lincoln Cathedral.
It's lit up at night in case you should miss it during the day.
Magnificent!

Angry I have a sneaky feeling that as a man, I occasionally - if not always- am not intended to receive some of the information in your e-mail newsletters? Cool Shame really I could have done with a week's break! Wink

Cool Hi All, how are you all. Only 6 months to go before I have paid off my mortgage - hopefully, if I live long enough?? Looks as though paying extra every month is going to have paid off. Thankfully! Big Grin

Hi Jackie and the UKTV Style team
Thanks very much for the very welcome message.
I enjoyed your site so much that I became a little addicted.
In fact, I guess my wife thought I was writing to some sort of dating agency, because of the time I spent sending and reading messages and, of course the very interesting articles.
I have learned from the experience and now my time on the boards is measured.
Don't worry, I still luv you All (x),
P.S. I don't suppose I have any better chance of winning one of the competitions before I pop my clogs, do I?!!
Best Wishes

I have a feeling I was born too early to be better with money. I wish Nik and Eva had advised me when I was in my late 20s and not, as now, when I am 64.
Ah well, life's a xxxxx!

Contact Paul McCartney immediately. You may well have a future pop idol in your midst!
Good luck

The end of Ground Force still brings a tear or two to my eyes when you see the emotion shown by the person who owns the garden.
Still, there aren't that many other sloppy men about I suppose!
I will always enjoy the repeats whatever happens.

I think I have received the biggest Christmas compliment ever, as a present.
My daughter who is stationed in Germany has bought me a web cam viewer for my computer...so that she can see me when we go on line together!!!! Come on now, all say, Aaah.
Wink P.S. It will be lovely to see her, too, as she has also bought one for herself.
Now I can have a Happy New Year and I hope you all do likewise.
Best Wishes

Merry Christmas and a Very Happy and Properous New Year to you All. 2004 saw us installing the new central heating (combi-condensing - it's been fantastic having a warm house and hot water!). We have almost finished the kitchen. The units, and built-in equipment, are all now fitted - all thanks to MFI. We have decided to go for ceramic floor tiles rather than the laminate that we had intended. I forgot to order the tiles so it will be definitely in 2005 before they are layed.
Keep smiling and very best wishes

What I am thinking is:-
I hope that this year I don't become grumpier and grumpier as I eat and drink too much!
I really do love Christmas. It's proving it to my wife and daughters that gets in the way.
A Very Merry Christmas to you All. Confused

Rebecca,
And so say all of us (well I do, anyway!).
Christmas is a time for sharing and FUN!
What's the matter, have we all to lose our sense of humour, eventually, to fall in line with the Government, EU and/or Health and Safety legislation? Blurgh
Merry Christmas and enjoy life, please.
Cheers

Hey, it's Christmas. Let's all live and let live. Afterall, whether we are fat or thin we still want to be loved. And, if we are not loved because of what I wear, then perhaps we are not worth loving anyway.
Must admit, though, that my wife would kill me if I showed one bit of underpants over my trousers!!!
Keep smiling and Merry Christmas,
Les

Thanks Bellavista. I got excited that you might have cracked the problem. I did exactly as you indicated. The answer came up - there are none!
It was worth the try though.
By the way - I presume you meant the name uktvstyle and not U.K.Style? For the sake of good order, I did try both.
Strange thing is when I click ;Pst' for my message, I get the smilies come up which are a row of red x's before I click post. Even though I click on them, nothing seems to be generated on my post, however.
You can always imagine which one I might have pressed, though (wink).
Cheers

Rebecca,
Did I mention (in a previous post somewhere) that I planted Escallonia shrubs at the top of our garden - between the garden and the main raod footpath. The have come on a treat. Trouble is, I have trouble knowing when to prune. If I do it after flowering, I seem to do it too early and if I do it too late, the flowers are not that brilliant the next year. I'll keep trying, though.
They measure 4feet high and are about 4 feet deep - and they are still growing - I think.
Cheers

Hi Angie,
Just between you and me...
It was my 44th birthday during our holiday to Ibiza. Before the holiday I told my wife not to get me a present as the holiday was enough.
On the day....no present! I was shocked and stunned but I have learned to keep my big mouth shut.
In fact, the next year my wife boyught me 13 (thirteen) presents to make up for it.
Another present - from my Mum and Dad in 1958 - that I haven't used much is the book Treasure Island in SHORTHAND. I asked for it...and got it - and still have it!
Cheers

Hi, the lovely Rebecca,x.,
I'm afraid that Sven is very much biased towards the Trees for obvious reasons.
However, after doing my back in, a few years ago, trying to carefully move the real tree outside the house (once Christmas was over), I'm afraid I have to stick with my perhaps, feeble excuse.
I have quite an extended Christmas holiday this year but my thoughts will be with you and all involved with the UKtvstyle message Board - my Christmas boxes must go to Angie and Tricia and not forgetting the UKTVStyle Team (xxx)
Merry Christmas to you All,

Hi All,
At 62, I notice that the ladies are no more attracted to me now than they ever were! Do you think I need a makeover, or is it too late anyway?
Luckily, my wife has put up with what she got for the last 35 years.
Cheers
Les
