Crème fraîche
A traditional French product, crème fraîche is a cultured soured cream with a lighter taste than regular soured cream but has a longer shelf life and richer flavour than regular fresh cream.
Crème fraiche is an excellent cream for cooking, especially rich savoury sauces and soups, because it does not curdle when heated.
It can also be served alongside fresh fruit or desserts as a zingy alternative to regular cream, jam or honey.
Keep crème fraîche in the sealed plastic container in which it was purchased and store in the fridge.
