New Market Kitchen Programme.

The programme makers must respond to the comments on the message boards and explain their rationale for this waste of money which is Market Kitchen.
Not all viewers can be wrong.

I am unable to understand how it is possible for a programme to come to air with such amateur presenters working off what is clearly a very poor script. Perhaps it has been produced by students on work experience.

The people lurking in the background and those provided with naive questions are just beyond belief !!

Viewers need answers.

Perhaps the programme should have been launched on 1st April.

I really liked Matt on the Great British menu and was determined to give this programme a chance, I have tried to watch it every lunchtime this week so far but like others find my attention drifting to other things - I think the best thing Matt can do is get out quick and never return to this show!

Watching the morning repeat, Matt does look to me like he's hating every second and wishes he was somewhere else!

I can usually enjoy any food show and have even been known to watch some twice in one day as they roll round on UKTV Food and +1...

But while I'm continuing to give it a go, my attention is constantly sliding off this show. The production seems to have sucked all the joy out of cooking.

The announcer has said before the show that the programme had been receiving "rave reviews".

From where?

Chloe - More like Grave reviews as opposed to rave reviews !

Any idea how are viewing figures calculated ?

Also I would like UKTV to identify how to provide feedback to the show because it appears obvious that the feedback on the message boards is the wrong forum.

I didn't even watch it today - I tuned into Loose Women - much more entertaining!!

Angry Finally decided to watch it after a week of NOT watching.. Camera shot change every 2-4 seconds? Watched for 8 minutes. (160 shot changes) and felt dizzy and ill. If the content had been worth it I may have stayed tuned, but it is absolute rubbish. Content best left on the edditing room floor.
Plus, where do you get your viewing numbers from? How are they obtained? I don't know of one friend who now watches this programe, and will let Waitrose know as well.
And UKTV Food, its not too late. Admit you got it wrong. Do the right thing and bury this programme for ever and bring back Jenny.

Chloe and Gluck - maybe the announcer meant the reviewers were raving...

This is the third time I have tried to post a comment about MK. I agree with gluck that this is obviously not the forum to get feedback to the right people Angry

Anyone got any ideas? I have already emailed Waitrose.

FINALLY got a comment posted Big Grin
Gluck and 1281 - I have emailed Waitrose and the BBC and also tried to post a comment on one of their message boards. If UKTV really do care about viewers then they should at least have enough respect to respond to our comments. Lets see!

Can I ask why you emailed Aunty beeb please?

I emailed the Beeb because UKTV is a joint venture between BBC Worldwide and Flextech Television and thus I should think they might be interested in the very negative feedback appearing here and elsewhere.

belle maman/scaleywitch , I would also like to email Waitrose to find out their reasoning for backing the incredibly boring Market Kitchen ,but going on their web site i couldn't decide on the best area to contact, could you let me know the website address of who you contacted? then I think we should all let them know our feelings!
I also agree with the fact emails are being deleted, I recieved 25 emails about this topic today but on checking on the message board at the time there were only 20 published.
BRING BACK JENI AND GFL! Return some vitality and interest to our lunchtimes and evenings!

Well, Iv'e given the new programme a fair trial by watching it all through it's first week and will NOT be watching through it's second or ANY subsequent weeks. It's arty tarty, eminently suited to the Muesli and Lentil munching, sandal wearing Islington type Chaps and Chapesses, but as far as I can glean, totally unsuited to anyone who aspires to eating anything more basic than that served at the Savoy Grill or it's Equivalent.
The set resembles to me, something that might not look out of place on a futuristic spaceship in a sci-fi film, with bemused people looking on as the chefs go about their highly artistic and 'in-trade' antics (lots of good wholesome food done with blood oranges, courgettes, pine nuts, twee bits of truffle. Where, is the average person going to go to get truffle?). Things that quite frankly would not be done in the average semi in suburb land, or anywhere else outside the rarified atmosphere of somewhere like the Ivy.
Presenters? Yes Tana is a very lovely looking woman. Presenter she ain't. Matt whoever, has the charisma of a lamp post but seems to flail his arms with the urgency of a wind forest in a force 12. The others?
NOT IMPRESSED. ONE EX VIEWER. Angry Angry

Please don't be naive, UKTVfood do NOT have to respond to anyone.
Punters are punters, they have made a business decision, it may be cr~p, they may live to regret it but please don't think top bods are leaping off tall buildings.
Cream rises, Jenni will surface soon, if UKTV aren't astute enough.........their loss.
ps my other emails have been deleted so you will probably not get to read this.
Let's see what is on the TV.

Perhaps the regular chefs on GFL could let their comments be known, after all many became household names by appearing on the programme. I am sure they read our comments.

Another point worth noting: How many of us are actually incensed/moved enough to get up from our sofas and post a comment here?? This time, rather a lot of us! And that should, YES, it REALLY REALLY SHOULD, UKTV Food, be acknowledged!

Gave the show another chance...... well, in all fairness, I gave it a full ten mins of a chance...... Sorry, this aint going to improve.

...... unless you put Jenni in charge of it.

Come on you lot, all this programme has been from the beginning has been, as everyone else has noted, a long advert for Gord's benefit. Well, we don't appreciate it.

We are not a dim, Big Brother type audience. Please, stop treating us like numpties, and give us the quality tv we deserve, and without exception, would like to see on this channel.

Anyone any idea who else advertises during the breaks in this rubbish? If so we could email them and let them know they are wasting their money as by the time their ad is on no-one is still watching!
