And just remembered: Porters, 17 Henrietta street, Covent Garden - wonderful British food including roasts, fish and chips and gorgeous puds like jam roly poly, etc.
Yes I agree Rules in Maiden Lane is fab altho' I have to say I enjoy it more at lunch time with all the pin-striped city gents - it just adds to the englishness of it all.
The Boisdale - Victoria
The Chop House Butler Wharf
Top Floor at Smiths of Smithfield
Conservatory at The Lanesbough, they do a fixed price brunch - not overtly cheap but you can eat and drink as much as you want
Brian Turners, I've not been there but mum said it was excellent
It's a real shame that the city closes at the weekend as you have some of the finest restaurants there.
Come to my house!!! Not actually IN London, but probably the best roast you'll get anywhere not a restaurant aither, but just had to blow my own trumpet
Have to agree with Georgie, Porters is fab, we always have to take my Stepdad there on his birthday cos he loves toad in the hole.. its excellent traditional food.
