Hello Paul, This is the first time I have posted and want to say that I really enjoy it when you are on GFL, it's the highlight of my day! Saw you at the Good Food Live Show but was too shy to come and say hello. I would like to ask your opinion about bread makers. I am thinking of buying one and wondered what you thought about them. Are they any good? Is it best to get a large multi function one, which also does cakes, etc. or is a small simple one best. Thanks.

Hi Paul, Thanks for the advice, it is much appreciated. I think I'll pass on the bread maker and use my digits instead. Hopefully, I won't have too many disasters and will produce something edible! I notice Trudi was asking about news on a book, is it due out soon? Looking forward to seeing you on GFL on 13th December. Happy Christmas.

Definitely Paul Hollywood as a co-host for Jenni, with James Martin a close second and Sophie Grigson third. Paul has the edge over James because of his twinkly eyes, they remind me of George Clooney!

Paul hope the meetings with the publishers go okay and you get a book deal. Looking forward to buying the book.

1. Don't really do "serious" cooking, so no opinion about this.
2. Delia Smith - either "The Complete Cookery Course" or the "How To Eat" series.
3. A book containing pasta and pasta sauce recipes.

I wish we had a Waitrose nearby as well. Isn't it a pity that we can't buy Paul's bread via the net?

Definitely think Paul and James should do a series together, agree with Aya that it would be a ratings winner. Hint, hint UK Food.

How about next time Jenni is on holiday Paul and James host GFL together!

Don't know anything about Wolf Blass wines, but Shiraz is a good choice to go with turkey.

Neel, What makes you think we would want to ask the Divine Mr. Hollywood a question that wasn't of a cookery nature? (She asks innocently whilst sighing as she thinks of his lovely twinkly eyes!).

Ralph, Karen and Maria, have just watched you on tape, thought you were brilliant and the food looked great! Wish I could of tasted it as well, especially the Chocolate Energy Bars. It was nice to put faces to names. Well done!

I see that, according to January's Good Food magazine, Giorgio is going to be starring in a new BBC2 series in the Spring. Maybe it's to coincide with the release of his book.
Can't wait as I think his recipes are wonderful!

Hi Ralph, Glad to hear that you are a Giorgio fan. I have to agree with you about his pudding problem, I also wish he would do more as the ones I have seen look wonderful. Unfortunately, I haven't seen all of his previous series, I kept missing the odd episode, so I'm really looking forward to the new one.

I really love Italian food and I'm just starting to buy cook books by specific Italian cooks, rather than just the general ones that I have bought in the past (best Italian recipes, that sort of thing). My husband bought me Antonio Carluccio's Favourite Italian Recipes from Marks and Spencer, but I was wondering are there any good books that you would recommend as I notice from previous postings on the site about Gino that you mention lots of favourite Italian chefs. I like watching Antonio when he's on GFL and also saw Valentina Harris at the Good Food Show and thought she was very good as well. Thanks a lot.

Happy Christmas.

Jill.

Hi Ralph, Thanks for taking the time to reply to me. I'm going to have a look on Amazon for your recommendations. Hopefully one day you'll get your wish and see your recipes in print. It'd be very interesting to see them.

Maria, I was also going to ask what the book was called, but you've just answered it for me. I haven't seen Nigel make the truffles, but I've seen some of the other lovely recipes. Will definitely be buying the book. Amazon here I come!

With 2 recommendations it looks like the Aldo Zilli book is definitely one to buy.

Thanks a lot Ian. I've got Amazon as one of my favourites, but I'm going to use your link as it'll save me logging on to their site and typing the book details in. Lazy or what!

Best wishes for Christmas. Jill.

Ralph, I've taken your advice and just had a look at Lorenza's book on Amazon. The review sounded just the sort of thing that I'm looking for so it's been put into my shopping basket which is getting rather full! The River Cafe Italian Kitchen was also mentioned on another post so that's gone in there as well, together with Antonio Carluccio's Invitation To Italian Cooking and Nigel Slater's Real Food. Aldo Zilli's was already in there, so I'm building up quite a nice collection. I've got some money off coupons for Waterstone's as well so I'll have a look there and see where I can get the best deal. Thanks again for all your brilliant advice.

Don't know what went wrong with my post the gremlins were obviously at work, here it is again, hopefully.

I'm trying to be a "foodie" too. I've only been posting for a couple of weeks, but everyone has been so friendly and give advice so readily. I agree with Emma that the recipes given on the sites are sometimes better than the ones that the chefs come up with. You'll all turn me into a "foodie" yet!!!!!

Hi Linda, I have this book in my shopping basket at Amazon, can you let me know what it's like when you get it? Thanks a lot.

Trudi, that's another one thats just gone into the shopping basket!

Ralph, I'll probably end up getting them all over the next few months!
No doubt my husband will be pleased, as everytime one or the other of us buys a book then the other one buys one as well (does that make sense?). Not very good for the wallet though!!!!!

I think I'll probably go for Lorenza's and Nigel Slater's first or then again maybe Antonio's and Aldo's or then again maybe ..............
