yes it deffinatly depends on what sort of chat room you enter, have had problems with some but others are fine, you just have to be careful not to give out details about yourself unless you are sure of the peple you are talking to

how about potatoes with paprika sauce? slice some pots and put in a dish with some chopped onion and cover with a sauce made from a tin of tomatoes, 1/4 pint of stock, a little tomato paste and 2 teasp of paprika all mixed together. then just cover and pop in the oven untill the potatoes are tender.

we also love cajun potatoe wedges - simlpy cut potatoes into wedges - as large or small as you like - coat very lightly with oil and sprinkle on some cajun seasoning - or barbacue - or even curry powder. put on a baking tray and cook at a fairly high heat until crispy outside and soft in the middle.

many recipies for pasta sauces, my daughter is an addict, but do you want meat - if so which ones - fish, cheesey or veggie? pasta bakes also -and lasagne - lots of different ones

ok Stuart, I'm sure many people have better recipies buts here are some of mine - bearing in mind I am a "make it up as you go along" sort of cook, not really following recipies.
sketty bol - gently fry some onion in oil then add some chopped carrott and celery add some beef or turkey mince (pack from supermarket) some garlic to taste, a tin of tomatoes, some dried herbs, a little tomatoe paste and a stock cube with enough water to cover well. simmer for a couple of hours and serve over cooked spaghetti

one I just made up - gently fry some onion with some bacon bits and some sliced peppers add some mustard (i used whole grain) and lemon juice and add to cooked pasta

We had some of this leftover so the next day I put it in a dish and sprinkled with grated cheddar and parmesan cheese, covered with foil and heated in the oven for 1/2 an hour - but you cover with a basic tomato sauce like the bolly one (tin of toms, onion, garlic, carrott and any herbs you like and a little stock if nec - cooked gently before pouring over)

Or of course you could use chicken or turkey instead of the bacon and you could make a basic white (or cheese) sauce to cover

a very quick one is simply - cook any sort of pasta you like, when cooked drain and return to the hot saucepan, add some chopped ham and a couple of eggs and stir round untill the eggs are cooked

another is to fry some diced pork, with some onions and peppers - carrott if you like and some garlic, add some tomatoes or a tin of same and lots of stock. Then add the dry pasta and cover. Simmer for about 20-25 mins till pasta is cooked

These are just ideas out of my head cos my daughter didnt bring the pasta recipie book home when she came home from uni for christmas

If you like cold pasta (yuk i don't but my daughter does) you could try cold cooked pasta (run it under a cold tap when cooked) and make a honey musted dressing just with some runny honey some mustard and some olive oil - maybe a little lemon juice to taste. mix and serve with a salad

sorry ive gone on a bit here - just a few ideas out of my head - let me know if you want anything else more specific

ok so I don't know the capabilities of flour to be explosive - but I do know that stuffing the cavity and breast of a turkey can be very dangerous as far as food poising is concerned. Which is why I was very surprised to see the showing of Fanny Craddock doing just this. I know this was the thing to do in the 70's but has long since been warned against and feel maybe even if the rest of this particular program was ok there should at least have been a warning that this is no longer advised - maybe there was but I didn't see it.

as much as I would love the idea of a breadmaker and the lovely smell of bread first thing in the morning - I would still prefer Paul Hollywood on my worktop than a machine.

yes they can be eaten (I don't think they are raw they should be roasted before coated in the choc) very nice with a good cup of coffee, I also once put some slightly smashed up ones in coffee ice cream

I'm liking the sound of this book more and more. Joshua is so lucky to be able to grow up with such a great dad, and I agree with Carole about the babies bit - my daughter started University this year!! but I can still remember those early years .......well just about!

I am not an expert cake maker, nor do I have a degree in math - but what I would do personally is make double or maybe 1 1/2 times the mixture and fill my cake tins to the normal level - forgive me if I'm wrong but rich fruit cake ie christmas cake which I assume the recipie is for the wedding cake does not rise (or hardly at all) and if you have mixture left over make another small cake for another occasion.

Like I said I'm no expert just a make it up as I go cook - but maybe to experiment without costing too much make and bake a small quantity first to try out.

This is the other Karen - but believe me the posts are there, people keep asking the same questions under different headings, and Ian has to keep posting the same reply time and again (poor thing)

check out the UK Food website heading and you will see.

Hmm.... I have a problem here cos I adore them both, since I first saw them together on James Martins show ages ago.

I think I will just stick to dual adoration!

I would just suggest using a fruit juice or combination of juices to compliment the fruit you are using in the salad.

Sorry PH I don't remember what the series was called, in fact at that time I didn't even know your name, I just recognised the face later. But I remember you being one side of a large table/worktop and JM the other, you were making different breads and JM made various other things

OK OK everyone so I spent more time lusting after the two of them than concentrating on the programme itself. so?

Ok martin I have it on fairly good authority that RW was in 1 episode of Eastenders just after he left Take That and of course Shane is in it now.
But don't think either of them have produced fish fingers

I do remember years ago someone using a piping bag with a nozzle in the end to make sausages. Might be worth a try, but it did look a bit messy.

Well my fairly reliable informant tells me that it was a very small "cameo" role - in fact Robbie was using the public phone in the Queen Vic - and as the camera panned round Robbie turned to the camera and winked. So if you blinked you would have missed it, but there was a fair amount of publicity about it at the time, but of course it was only just after he left Take That and before he proved himself to be the solo star we now know and love.
