Hi there, James Martin didn't enter MasterChef as far as I am aware. Do you mean Ross Burden, who got to the final but didn't actually win?

Hi all, Ross made it to the final but didn't win so the BBC site is incorrect.

I received three but as this is not the norm (usually only receive one) assumed that there was some sort of blip tonight. Happens to the best of us!

Keep taking the tablets for goodness sake Nick and go and lie down in a darkened room...

Carol - I think GFL will be coming live from the BBC Good Food Show at the NEC next week (well, they certainly have done the past few years), so they may do a Thanksgiving special, but if they do it won't be from the studio! I am sure that GFL will let us know what they are up to soon... hopefully?

Lucy - it is known as Nam Pla, so look out for that name too whilst seaching through the Oriental sauces.

Yes, you are right Black Mariah, it is part of an old cash register - the bowl bits were where the money went. I am sure he was giving this away as part of a competition on his website but probably long gone by now - sorry!

It is day 153 inside the Good Food Live House…

There is still no sign of Ross.

Relish is refusing all food and won’t get out of bed.

Georgie has gone to talk to the chickens.

It is raining.

Things are getting desperate.

Hi there Cathy! As Jackie says, Mini C has recipes on here you can look at (about 10.

From what I can gather off the net, Mini C runs a Thai restaurant in Chelsea, London, called Busabong. She will also have a recipe book published early next year (March 1st) called "Mini C. 100 Great Thai Dishes" - Amazon are taking pre-orders. Can't wait - I love Thai food too Cathy!

Keep taking the tablets Nick!!!

Having posted some anagrams on another thread, I thought I would see what 'New Zealand Chef Ross Burden' brought up:

Brazen-faced, renowned slush!!!

I am not saying a word.... Big Grin

I am so jealous - I saw an episode of Kylie Kwong's Heart and Soul where she was having a steam boat party (is the recipe from there?) and it looked absolutely fantastic. Have a wonderful time!

152 days, 4 hours, 25 minutes and 18 seconds.... Sorry, what did you say Mamma??

Oh, yes, that episode of RSC was one of the best! Ross was on twice last week so a double treat! Wonder if they will be doing any Christmas specials?

Wonder if Relish is ok and not faded away, she hasn't posted today....

What an excellent idea! The Christmas thread will be rather redundant come 26th December so an Occasions thread would be brilliant.

Another thought Sue, try Sainsbury's:

If there is one local perhaps your Boss could call them? Btw, he sounds a really nice Boss!

Just looked on Waitrose.com and there are a few Waitrose in Devon but as I don't know the area I couldn't tell you if they were near Tiverton - perhaps you could have a look:

The goose fat can be found in the chill cabinet (top shelf) where they sell their fresh meat (or at least that is where it is in my Waitrose).

You pipped me to the post grubhead! Waitrose definitely sell goose fat and I am sure good deli's do. You can also buy it online too.

There is also a DVD of the series that came out last Christmas with loads of recipe clips on it, funny moments from the series (James Martin in a kilt and Ross Burden with a floppy lolly - don't ask...) as well as a behind the scenes look at the making of the show.

A couple of years ago I was making my twins lunch and got some of those potato alphabet shapes out of the freezer (hangs head in shame) and took out 6. When I put them on the tray they spelt 'obey me'. I viewed the children in a completely different light that lunchtime and it was probably the last time I ever bought them..... Eek

Unbelievable. I read about the lard shortage but do wonder about the validity of the scare as our local stores do not seem to have a problem and there are literally thousands of boxes of mince pies for sale (when they said these would be short supply too) and now this!

I have checked on ebay and have to marvel at some people's sanity. The prices are not too bad (a few are saying £10 or over but most are a little more reasonable) and some do state that the money is going to charity but, well, sheer madness.

Mind you, having watched Top Gear on Sunday where one of the presenters sold a half smoked packet of cigarettes on ebay for £6 I believe there are people out there that will buy anything on ebay....

Wow Relish, you really are suffering aren't you? Even I am not that bad!

I mean I know it has been a long time since Ross has been on the programme – about 151 days, 3 hours, 30 minutes and about 28 seconds – ish? Something like that? Not that I have been counting….
Cry Cry

Actually, did anyone see Ross on last Friday’s Ready Steady Cook with AWT? It was hysterical! The Quickie Bag turned out to be a real comedy segment with Ross and AWT playing off each other and Ainsley being caught in the crossfire - it was brilliant!

So come on GFL... pretty please? Wink

Sorry, not sure what to suggest, hopefully someone else can suggest something - all I can say is that it sounds fab to me!
