On yesterday's programme the man talking about the different varieties of potato said that jersey royal farmers are no longer allowed to fertilise their crop with seaweed like they used to. However, I bought a pack of Jerseys from Sainsburys and as a selling point, on the pack it says "...selected from sloping fields near the sea and fertilised using seaweed from the beaches...". Surely retailers can't state this on produce if it's no longer the case?

Hi all - new girl here - signed up yesterday and really enjoy reading what you've all go to say. Some people can be really picky though can't they? I personally think you should eat what you want, when you want it and enjoy! By the way, the weather down in the south west has been boiling for days and doesn't plan to change.

Forgot to add - one of the things I think is great about this site is how helpful everyone is.

Hey TerryDox - I know you're having me on. Still it's been bad for a while down here so we're making the most of it while it lasts. Shame about the plants though relishmama. I love my garden.

Sorry it took so long TerryDox, I live in Plymouth and we have definitely been promised lovely blue skies for the weekend. Do you all want to come down here for few days?!!! Hee Hee. We'll soon have our fair share of the bad weather though I'm sure.

Re new address. I love Jenni Barnet but the way she gives out the web address these days really irritates me - why does she have that silly inflection and wave her arm about? Just tell it like it is Jenni.

Hi TerryDox - haven't tried Tanners yet. It's always so busy and frankly I can't be bothered. There are some great places to eat here that'll do me - I'll probably get round to it sometime although seeing their tv programme the portions seem too tiny for me!

I have a Morphy Richards breadmaker too and it's great. Really easy to use and excellent results. (I sound like an advert don't I?) I do think they're worth the money - I paid fifty something for ours - not one of the really expensive ones but there are cheaper ones out there.

Yes Michelle, I've been. Great food but rather pricey as you can probably imagine. But for a really special night, book into a room at the restaurant - it's really lovely. I would definitely recommend it.

Hi all. I agree that we need more food items on GFL. The flower bits and interviews do go on a bit. I tape it daily so I can fast forward over these bits. Great idea by the way Blondie. Any more good 'uns?

I really dislike cheese. Am I very weird or just a bit?!!! Wish I liked it though - and shellfish too. I'd love to be able to enjoy a nice big juicy prawn or scallop.

Sorry Matthew - love liquorice (real addict with no toilet problems I'm pleased to say Jen) but I hate liquorice allsorts. They spoil the liquorice.

I've tried the liquorice from Lakeland Livewire but didn't like it. Also my husband brought me some back from Norway once, Panda was the make, and I didn't like that either. The Lakeland one tasted just like it. I love the hard liquorice as well that we used to get as a kid but although Bassets still make it it's a lot softer than it was. Lovely though.
