Silvana Franco

With her charming personality and beaming smile, Silvana has fast become one of UKTV Food's most popular stars.

Born and raised in Derby to a large Italian family, Silvana first gained note as a respected food writer, working for BBC Good Food and M&S Magazine. Changing tact to move behind the scenes in the world of TV, she became a food stylist and writer for programmes such as Can't Cook Won't Cook and Ainsley's Meals in Minutes.

With writers and stylists, Angela Boggiano and Jenny White, Silvana founded Fork, a food styling company working for some of the best food titles across magazines, television and live events. This led to Grill Power, their weekly page in The Sun, which reached an audience of 3.5 million and delivered advice and recipes to readers with cookery problems.

It wasn't long before Silvana's engaging style was attracting the attention of producers and she started to appear on screen in her own right. She started working alongside Ainsley Harriott in Gourmet Express 2 as his side-kick and she hasn't looked back since. She co-starred in The Best for BBC2, which led to two 15 part series for GMTV on Christmas cooking and summer cooking. Other TV appearances include Saturday Kitchen, This Morning and, Great Food Live. After numerous appearences as a guest chef on Market Kitchen, Silvana joins the team as a full time presenter.
