What type of potatoes do you guys think is best to serve with above dish?

I'd use a floury potato, either mashed, Duchesse or as jacket potatoes.

Sorry but why not try rice. Dont know why but it seems to go together much better than potatoes.

I'd use rice as well rrab. Usually white basmati but sometimes brown rice. Having said that, it is rather nice when served with tagliatelle too.

No I have not tried it with tagliatelle thank you for the idea will give that a try
