Yes it is French Onion Soup. I will give your suggestions a go. 
It may seem a silly question, but does anyone know how I can make my onion soup less sweet. I think I added a little too much sugar and need to calm it down a bit and for the life of me can I think what I need to do. Grey matter is not working as well as it should. Many thanks to anyone who replies.
