The information is biased and I can say that much of the Greek kitchen is original to Greece and has influenzed many surrounding countries. Yes, fish is eaten in great quantaties and other fruits of the sea, including Octopus, which I have not been able to find since returning to England. This is cooked in such a way that it melts in the mouth. Kalamari, urchins just to mention a few. Yes, the fruit and vegetables there are better because they are left to mature in the sun and not picked before their time for longer life shelf. Are the comments made by a Greek I wonder Angry

Try cooking it anotherway. Gut and wash the fish, slash across the skin a few times. Salt, pepper and origano sprinkled inside the fish and over the skin. Cover a frying pan with olive oil and turn the heat on for a minute and place the fish in the pan. Turn the fish after a minute and leave for a further minute. Squeeze two lemons over the top after two or three minutes turn over for a further two or three minutes. Serve with salad and crusty bread. Delicious and less oily

Is it not annoying that the cooks on tv stick to what is fashion and not what is really an adventure of different textures and taste. Cooking is an art. Further there are more countries in Europe than just France, Italy and Spain. By the way, courgette flowers have been in Greek cousine since ancient times, it is not an Italian invention. Get the facts right before you televise them. On the question of food history tv presenters are absolute rubbish. Sorry guys I love watching for ideas but really get the facts right. By the way I commend those that go to the routes, like Gary Rhodes, to find the authentic way of cooking things. Bravo!!! Angry

Thanks. It seems you agree that traditional food should be kept traditional hundres and in some cases thousands of years of tradition have recently been brushed under the carpet. Being a Greek I like the old traditional food but I also create my own I have never had problems in entertaining my family and friends with my dishes. I love food from all over the world particularly that of the Indian continent. I intergrate the spices in all my cooking. Smile
