What happened to series 7,8,9,10,.....16?

Does anyone know what Compo had in his matchbox (official version)?

Where is Brian Wilde these days? Is he still with us?

'I think I'll go and get a bit of sausage for me tea.'

Tongue Frown I don't know where you can get series: 7,8,9,10 or 16 on DVD? Unfortunately, but some of the older shows are out on VHS and you get them at Amazon or Ebay if I remember rightly?

Sorry to hear about 'Foggy'. I obviously missed the announcement/obituary. I have just read Peter Sallis' autobiography, 'Fading into the Limelight' published in 2006 and in the ONLY chapter on LOTSW he says 'Foggy' was still with us. That's what prompted me to ask. Cry

All the best.

Cry Hi Cleggscap, I have searched around the internet for a date when foggy died? But can't find anything, someone told me they'd read it in the newsapaper and I believed it because he wasn't on the tribute to bill own, and I'm sure Brian would have been there? You've got me wondering now, because this happened to Alec Guinness and he wasn't dead at the time?

Various VHS are available on Amazon I looked and theres also BBC America where you and others might find some summer wines good luck

HI, NEW TO THIS! I HAVE BEEN WATCHING LOTSW SINCE 1978 WHEN I WAS BORN! NO LITERALLY, MY MUM USED TO STICK ME IN MY BOUNCER IN FRONT OF OUR BLACK AND WHITE TELLY SO THAT SHE COULD WATCH IT IN PEACE, I WAS ALWAYS AS SILENT AS A MOUSE WHILE IT WAS ON, I MUST OF LOVED IT! AS TO BRIAN WILDE, HE WAS IN THE TV SPECIAL FOR COMPO, OR THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW, EITHER WAY HE LOOKED PRETTY ILL TO ME, BUT THEN 'CLEGGY' NOT LOOKING TOO GOOD THIS SERIES EITHER! ANYHOW, I'M WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOW'S WHAT'S HAPPENED TO BILLY HARDCASTLE THIS SERIES? WITHOUT OFFENCE, COULD IT HAVE BEEN HIM THAT DIED?

Big Grin The New Series of Summer Wine started today, it was great seeing it again and still as funny as ever. I couldn't stop laughing when Doggy said he'd kissed Nora batty, I was trying to picture Compo going mental about someone kissing his own true love! Big Grin Roll Eyes Brilliant stuff.

I am gonna write to a local newspaper and ask them what happened to Foggy and Billy, either way they will find out!

Good to know Brian Wilde is still alive.
Maggio, showing my ignorance a bit, what is the IMDB? Ah - just looked it up in Wikipedia. Is it the IMDb (Internet Movie Database)?
As for Cleggy not looking too good - well, he is 86 this year and has failing eyesight. So I suppose he could be considered to be looking pretty good!!

Hi itschad
THE FLAG AND ITS SNAGS, THE FLAG AND ITS FURTHER SNAGS & HERE WE GO INTO THE THE WILD BLUE YONDER have been on recently but I'm not sure if they were on UKTV Drama or Gold. Haven't seen HERE WE GO AGAIN INTO THE WILD BLUE YONDER or GETTING SAM HOME recently. Then again, since I retired I've turned into Howard! I was probably cleaning windows when they were on. Anybody know a Marina!?? Wink

All episodes mentioned except 'Getting Sam Home' are from Series #5 (1979). They will be on UKTV Drama around 3rd/4th August. 'Getting Sam Home' is 1983 Christmas Special. As I have said before, the only Christmas Special we seem to get is 'The Loxley Lozenge' (1984) repeatedly. Confused

Don't blame the wife if all you got on your tape this evening was golf! Blame the good old BBC. Did they say at the end when tonights episode wil be broadcast or will it just be next Sunday now.

Keep paying the tax - sorry, licence fee.

Its 05:50 on Monday morning and because i missed LOSW Sunday nite (sorting out houses for my son) i thought i get up early before my old duch rises and the talking restricts my viewing pleasure. Thank you all for responding to my first message. Poor old Cleggscap, you say you have turned into a Howerd. I've lived long enough to say that we poor buggers dont just turn into a Howerd, sometimes we're forced into being a Howerd by our ever loving Pearls. Its so good to be in cyberworld with all you LOSW fans. Our wives have Coronation St etc to escape from reality so long may we enjoy some Summer wine. Incidentally, i moved to Harrogate 13 years back and about 5 years ago i visited summer wine country around Holmfirth. Highly recommended, done Heartbeat country too. Right, enough natter the dvd has warmed the glory box is on so i'm off. Hope you all have a good one.

Hello Again. Well, itschad should turn into Mr Grumpy. At the ungodly hour of 06:15 i settled down to watch episode 2 of the latest LOSW show that should have been broadcast at 19;15 Sunday nite. DVD recorder was set to record Summer Wine at the time the BBC listed. As stated earlier i was out most of Sunday nite so had no idea those incompetent bufoons at Bloody Broadcasting Clots had instead continued with that bloody silly game i think they call golf thus i have missed the only show on BBC apart from Antiques Roadshow thats worth watching. Anybody out there know when those idiots at BBC will show Summer Wine No2. I as it takes sometime for this message to appear on this site. Honestly, grown men (supposedly) walloping a little ball alll over gods creation to get it into a hole, beats me. Lastly, terrestrial tv is now so boring, especially ITV1 & Ch4 the only reason i tune in is to watch the latest commercials. Give us more GOLD and UKTV DRAMA, ban the BBC and save the licence fee for a few bottles of good scotch. Angry itschad

Can't agree with itschad about the golf: glorious game and a superb championship. However, have pointed out to BBC that they could have postponed some of the terrible drivel which followed the news broadcast and retained LOSW (admittedly a bit on the late side but DVD recorders can be programmed to record a particular programme not just at a particular time). Also pointed out that revised time of transmission should have been broadcast. Best advice is to track www.radiotimes.com and set up LOSW as a Personal Programme. For next Sunday Episode #3, 'What Happened to the Horse' is still being promulgated. Hopefully, that will be amended to Episode#2, 'Variations on a Theme of Road Rage' but watch this space. What we will have to watch out for is the dreaded Beeb sneaking it out unexpectedly late on a weekday.

For Flyinghaggis: where did you get your information about Series #17 being published on DVD? I have researched all UK sources and have found no reference.

Following up on my last, this morning www.radiotimes.com is calling for last Sunday's missed episode, 'Variations on a Theme of Road Rage,' to be broadcast on Sunday 5th August at 19.05. I can see a future Trivia Question. Why was Series#28, episode #3 broadcast before episode #2, (or there will be endless argument over which is episode#2 and which episode#3). Of such is the kingdom of the anorak.

Still no sign of Billy Hardcastle. Have checked internet and he would appear to be still with us. Anyone know why he has been dropped? Or was he just too young? I would hate to think that reverse ageism is creeping in.
