Hi, I live in the US and love LOTSW. I have purchased series 1-6, but have been unable to find and purchase any more of the series, except for single shows. Can anyone direct me to place where I can purchase more of the series. George Taylor

So sorry to hear of Brian Wilde's passing, he's given me many hours of entertainment in LOSW. It's only through this thread that I am able to get any information about the series or the actors. I enjoy following your comments, so keep it up--Stateside

Dear readers of this thread. I've just finished watching Series 7 & 8. It was released here in the states a little after it was available to you in the uk. I know that John Comer died in 1984, but there was never a reference to to Sid in the complete series, only the arrival of Crusher. Was his departure ever addressed (maybe series 9 )? Here in the states where I live We only get to enjoy one episode a week on our PBS station. I really envy that your're able to see several episodes a week, even if you have seen them numerous times (see it could be worse ).

Thanks guys, have not seen 1988 special, so I look forward to seeing it in some future dvd release. Have seen "the man from oswestry." It certainly leaves a hole in the series when people leave and no mention is made of what has happened to them. Again thanks for the info--Porgie

Dear compo, foggy & clegg, Sorry to say I've only been watching LOTSW for about three years here on our Public Broadcasting Network. They buy the shows from BBC to show here on saturday mornings. This morning was episode "In the service of humanity." PBS started with Series 1 several months back and are now up to Series 5. These older series have not been shone here in the states for 20 years. As I said when I started watching they were showing Series from 1995-96, which they repeated three time before getting the ones they're showing now. I was never a big fan of PBS until I discovered LOTSW. I have purchased Series 1-8 on Ebay and also a set called LOTSW "Vintage 1995" which has interviews with the cast and also a tribute to Dame Thora Hird. I also purchased another box set released here which has "Getting Sam Home", "Last of the Summer Wine"-90 mins. and 6 more episodes from the first two series. I now await the next release, whatever the episodes. Oh, by the way, no Christmas or New Years specials on PBS-Porgie
