There used to be (or maybe still is) a crime series on BBC, the name of which I just can't remember. I do remeber it was about a police detective of Jewish origin. He has a brother who owns a Kosher deli. I think he's a widower, and has daughter who's engaged but is sort of falling in love with his assistant/partner.
