Calling all Drama lovers! On UKTV Drama we're continually scouring the archives for neglected gems - but are there any shows we've overlooked that you loved first time round and wouldn't mind seeing again? Let us know!

I'm not sure if it qualifies for UKTV Drama, but I remember a series about Special constables which I think was enterprisingly called "Specials"; set in Birmingham, which would be well received in my house.

There was a brilliant two-parter in 1998 called Heaven on Earth, starring Neil Pearson - would be great for a bank holiday!

Happy Birthday Shakespeare (from 2000) starring Neil Morrissey, Amanda Holden and Dervla Kirwan.

Bedtime, with Sheila Hancock and Timothy West.

BBC1's Afternoon Plays have featured some excellent one-off dramas.

Also, there have been some great children's dramas that deserve a wider audience, for example Moondial and The Box of Delights.

Hi there.

I'm new to this forum but I would like to know if there is another chance to see the earlier series of BBCs 'Down to Earth' with Pauline Quirk and Warren Clarke.

The Beeb put the first series onto video but not series two and three. It would be nice to see the family again through their trials and tribulations.

Regards

Tony O'B

There was something on tv a few years ago called the beggar bride, it had Keely Hawes in it and was great. Also Soldier Soldier which was realy good in the early days. I am not sure if either of these have been shown before but I have never seen them. Smile

MORE HISTORICAL DRAMAS!

In the 1970's, the BBC used to make loads of really cool, well-written historical dramas - 'Shoulder to shoulder', 'the Devil's Crown', 'Prince Regent' and 'In the Shadow of the Tower' to name a few (which I would like to see!)

Now, I wasn't around in the 70's so i've never had the opportunity to see most of these dramas (Apart from occasional showings of I, Claudius and Elizabeth R!) and they VERY difficult to find on video.

I think it would be really cool, and add something really different to television if UK Drama took it upon themselves to root out and show some of these less well known historical series. They seem to have their own little followings and sound very interesting, but most of us just never get a chance to see them!

I would like to see Hamish Macbeth on UKTV Drama - it came on UKTV Gold last year but I missed half of it and it would be lovely to watch it all again. A definate preference for that show over Monarch of the Glen. Smile
