I would like to congratulate you guys on the coverage provided yesterday on the WRC, as an avid fan of rallying for years I thought it was educational for newbies and experienced fans and very well put together certainly better than what we have had in the past. Lets hope you bring in many new fans. Big Grin Big Grin

I agree Big Grin It's nice to see a broadcaster taking interest in the WRC. It has been passed around too many times between the TV companies (although I suspect most of the content is from WRC-FIA, the sections with Paul King and WRC in the bottom left corner).

Neil Cole delivered a dead-pan performance, sounds like a bad thing - but I want facts, not cheesy personality that takes over the footage from the stages.

Loved the background on the Wilson family and a look behind the scenes. Hope you have more of this planned. Also could we get Neil on the stages – getting cold/wet/muddy etc feeling the rally for us.

So all in all – one brilliant show, keep it up!

I just wanted to add to what im sure will become a long list of viewers praising your coverage of the WRC i have just watched. The preview show with the Wilsons last week was good but the actual coverage of the action at Monte Carlo was spot on. Neil Cole provides a knowledgeable yet light-hearted insight into the sport and i am sure you will draw a lot more viewers as the season progresses.

Well done guys.

This is already, right out of the box, better than anything we have been getting as far as rally coverage is concerned for MANY a year.
All previous rally reports have felt like one hour, this one felt like 15 minutes (time flies when you are having fun!), maybe that warrants a 1hr 30minute show instead !
Looking forward to the commitment of a programme every Sunday...brilliant work....keep it up.
GREAT STUFF Big Grin

Well done to Dave and Neil Cole for their coverage of the WRC Monte Carlo Rally. Good mix of interviews, backup and action especially in the limited programme time. Well done and will forgive the Channel title-just!! Wink Big Grin

I have to say, personally, I felt there was far too much yap and unrelated chitchat and not enough rally driving! I didn't see last week's preview (which may have answered some of my questions) but I would have appreciated knowing who is now driving for which team this season, perhaps a mention of the new Suzuki team etc etc. In an hour's programme it seemed the coverage of the driving only took up about 15 minutes at most. Some stages were relegated to a three word summary!

I am of course relieved that the championship is being broadcast for another year - it does seem that every year we cross our fingers that someone high up doesn't think "oh well, there are no top Brits driving any more, let's not bother", so any coverage is better than none, but could we please get to the nitty gritty and focus on the racing itself, not whether Seb Loeb's baby wakes him up at night and how long the yachts are in the harbour at Monte Carlo! Wink

I agree there is too much chat and not enough in-car etc.
Has Dave thought of having a repeat programme later in the week without the chat and with only in-car/stage action? They could call it WRC Extreme. This would suit the hardcore rally fans.

What a brilliant show. I am loving every minute. I don't agree with David Super Cat that there is too much Chat! It's all about the quality not the quantity. I have been a rally enthusiastic since the early 80's in the days of Stig Blomqvist. Who remembers the RS2000 and the Audii Quattro's. I am having so much fun watching Neil Cole. His performance is just as good the rally drivers themselves. I only wish I could be behind the wheel alongside Seb. I guess I'll have to make do with watching WRC on Dave. I've got my Sunday night 6.00 pm slot permanently locked in place on Sky+ just in case I miss anything. Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Well Done Dave for putting on a proper, interesting weekly program about the WRC. best coverage since BBC2 in the 80's

Anyone who doesn't like their coverage can always go and try and find delayed/re-scheduled snippets on Eurosport Develish

I've found the WRC coverage on Dave to be long on talk and short on action. Roll Eyes Could be much better, I think. I like to see extended in-car footage intermixed with external shots that allows me to admire the skill of the driver. That's every bit as important to the real enthusiast as the incidents and crashes.

I agree with people wanting more coverage of the driving and less chat, interesting show though. Keep it up Dave Big Grin

The coverage of the WRC on Dave is really enjoyable. My family and I all enjoy watching it, but sometimes we've been disappointed because the viewings are occasionally at a late time. I understand that some rallies take place with a HUGE time differance, but the last rally finished at a reasonable time to edit, but didn't get shown on Dave until 11:40pm!! We all go to work early Monday morning and we need to sleep!!! Can we have the rally shown at a prime time?

It's very very good. Maybe Dave should apply the same formula & personnell to Dakar, etc. The time difference thing is annoying... but if you think a rally finishes at c3pm (local time) and the last footage from the stages & podium still has to travel back to HQ to get processed & edited, if the event is GMT -5 hours, that's already 9pm UK time before they can even start transmitting it. Luckily, all the future 2008 events are GMT or East - where time difference is +GMT - so all 11 events for the rest of the year should be at 6pm as promised!! I found Neil on facebook page here (i'm not a stalker Cheeky...)
