Tintern Abbey is simply stunning to look at, it has a wonderful history including a literary connection, Wordsworth wrote his famous poem about it which can be found in the gift shop. Many people have loved this place and it is definitely worth a visit. The Abbey hotel opposite has a lovely view of the abbey. When I walked around it on a misty autumn morn, I could definitely imagine the monastic events which took place there. Eerie but serene and beautiful.

Beautiful abbey in glorious surroundings. Stunningly beautiful at any time of year. Well priced good quality gifts at the shop. There are some interesting places to visit close by.

Tintern Abbey is an awe-inspiring ruin in a wonderful location. Great when it looms out of the mist as you approach it.

Would be even better if it was completely intact. Henry VIII has a lot to answer for !

Visited Tintern for the first time in 1988 as a bored teenager with my parents Wink
Felt then (as I still do now) that it was magnificent, rising up against a backdrop of dark green trees right on banks of River Wye. Little rickety bridge over river nearby terrified me!!!
Took fiance back there last year after day racing at Chepstow. It has not lost any of it's atmospheric splendour (can still imagine the monks there) and that rickety bridge is still there Tongue
