Since DAVE came on the air it has been one of my VERY fave progs , the cars , Ray Mears , the documentaries etc but WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH is Whos line is it anyway . Whats that all about , a group of nowbodys trying to be funny and failing MISERABLY . Every time it comes on I look for another channel to watch , kids programmes are better viewing than that . GET IT OFF , your superb station deserves better than having to transmit that rubbish !! Angry Angry

Excuse me, but most of the comedians, if not all of them, in Whose Line Is It Anyway? are not nobodies. They are famous, and have very good careers. If you've bothered to read the Dave messageboard, there are many people who are thrilled by Dave's choice to keep it on. There have been at least four threads at once asking why it wasn't on, and many people have replied. Go figure. And owing to the fact that it ran for 10 series, there were full audiences at every taping, and that lots and lots of people have bought the DVDs, one would think that they were in fact succeeding at being funny, owing to the fact that they are comedians. Finally, if you look up how many awards it's won, then you'll finally get an informed view about it.

I would be interested to know which children's programmes you watch that can be better than Whose Line. I assume that if you do, in fact, enjoy showings of Teletubbies and the like, and fail to appreciate Whose Line, you may be lacking a sense of humour, and you may want to get this checked, as it can be a problem. Either that, or the sophisticated humour of John Sessions may be slightly above your comprehension.

Dave is "the home of witty banter" and of "cutting-edge comedy", as it bills itself. Whose Line is extremely humourous, and John Sessions provides enough witty banter for all four contestants. Therefore, I'm inclined to think that Dave want to live up to their taglines, and keep up brilliant executive decisions by keeping their schedule as it is at the moment.

Regards,
SabakuSands

Agreeing with the above point, Dave wouldn't show it practically every day if there wasn't a huge demand for it. It's immensely popular for several reasons: it's entertaining, funny, witty, clever and it appeals to all audiences.

Thank you to all who have replied but I stick to my guns that ( whoes line is it anyway ) is rubbish . DAVE play the progs over and over again to fill up transmission time . For real comedy check out Alan Partridge , Black Adder , Fawlty Towers , Royle Family etc etc . Sadly not to be found on Dave . In my humble opinion Whos Line is a group of VERY unfunny people who all think theyre very talented people but are sadly seriously mistaken !!! Amateur chrades springs to mind !! Angry

Actually, you'll find that Dave play them over and over again because lots of fans asked them too- please don't make them out to be people desperate to fill up time between programs, it's an insult. They are extremely accommodating and listen to their viewers. I believe you do not understand: there's comedy (Fawlty Towers, etc.), and improvisational comedy (Whose Line. Trying to compare them is like trying to compare horror films and romance films- it just doesn't work because they're different genres.

Like I said before, the people on Whose Line are comedians, ergo they are funny. Please do read posts before you reply, otherwise you'll make people repeat themselves, which is most irksome. They are talented, as said by their many fans- one person against a majority says nothing. Finally, charades is never actually played on the show.

Please tell me, have you ever watched one full episode of Whose Line Is It Anyway? I would love to know just where you are getting your misguided judgement from.

Then you are not qualified to make a judgement, I'm afraid. Watching five minutes does not make you an expert, just like reading one book on something doesn't make you a professor of it. There's no point complaining if you don't know anything about what you're complaining about, it merely makes you look foolish.

I suppose when you are not forced to watch adverts then yeah it's all good. I give up with this ad fest of a channel. Prog starts, 7 mins in and here comes another 10 min ad break. They must be raking the cash in so maybe they can buy some more shows eh?

If you are only watching the first 5 mins you may escape the adverts... yawn....

Face facts here, with the cash generated from all the advertisement you would expect a lot more programming quality, rather than re re re re re re re runs of Billy big mouth Conolly and pointless Dragons Den. I fail to see the witty banter in these shows.....

UK-TV... Where the adverts are most important to us.

No it is not a great channel, it is just another UK TV channel, same as the rest, pointless. There is enough with UK TV Gold so no need for this Dave clap trap.

Diablo: I would be interested to know who is forcing you to watch adverts, and I extend my condolences. Have you tried telling whomever it is to stop forcing you? Wait, what did you say? Nobody's forcing you, it's just on the channel? Then perhaps you are not being forced- merely you lack the willpower to seize the remote and press a single button. Also, I believe this thread is nothing to do with adverts, therefore you are taking it off-topic. If you wish to complain about the adverts, please do it the proper way like everybody else and make a new topic.

I assume you must be pally with the employee in charge of revenue if you know that lots of cash is generated, and if so, why don't you tell him/her yourself that they have enough money to negotiate the rights to other programmes. And like I said before, you must turn on your television at a specific time if all you can find on Dave is Billy Connolly and Dragons' Den. How many times must I explain to you that you are essentially refusing to watch advocates of witty banter like Paul Merton? There is no purpose complaining if you, like the unfortunate complainer here, are not qualified to make a judgment because of your narrow-mindedness and refusal to watch anything but Mr. Connolly and Dragons' Den.

Finally, if you detest Dave so much, why do you seem to enjoy spending hours of your life on their messageboard? It either presents the rest of the general populace with a contradictory view, perhaps a tad hypocritical, or maybe you are unfortunately in denial that you, in fact, do like to watch Dave sometimes.

SabakuSands, I apologise for posting here, although it must be giving your hours of pleasure complaining at my complaining. I will now don my climbing boots and try to find the exit from my house as I cannot remember what it looks like outside.

I don't like who's line, but if other people do just shut up and let them watch it! No ones forceing you. There's no reason for it to be taken away just because not everyone likes it.
