Nick Knowles' Original Features returns for a second series

Presenter Nick Knowles
Weeknights, 10pm, from Mon 17th Oct
From a 16th century rural cottage in Somerset to a 19-room pile in Newport once at the heart of an estate, series 2 of Nick Knowles’ Original Features lifts the lid on the history of British houses, as their owners get to grips with how to restore them to their former glory.
No matter what era your property is from, it’s surprising what features you can find by looking at a staircase or peeling back a panel of wallpaper.
As each project progresses, Nick researches the lives and times of the different families that have lived in the properties, unearthing the rich history that will help the couples’ who now occupy them, not only understand more about their new home but also help with their renovation.

Thanx Nick for a wonderfull programe.I bought my 1864 home in 1981 and my wife and I have spent the whole time restoring it.During that time we have uncovered coving that had been completely covered with plaster, that took two years to restore. we found old bell pulls, an old section of original window sash an old penny buried within a brick joint and an old comic book under one of the floors dating back to 1876. We have enjoyed our journey rstoring our house and watching your programe brings back lots of memmories good and bad. Keep up the good work.
