Ten Minutes with Anna Ryder Richardson

Ten Minutes with Anna Ryder Richardson
We last saw you sleeping in a rat pit with Christopher Biggins in I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! What have you been up to since then?
"Since my night with the rats and Biggins, I've done quite a lot actually! I've bought a wildlife park in south Wales which bizarrely, is stuck in the Seventies in the interior, so badly needs a massive makeover. I've got my lovely friend John Amabile from 60 Minute Makeover doing it with me and so with his help I shall be able to get it done in an hour!"
What did your daughters Bibi Belle and Dixie think about your experiences in the jungle?
"Well they think it's very normal for mummy to jump out of a helicopter at over 1,000 feet and waddle across a ravine 500 feet in the air. Who knows how I can top that for my children? Now they think I'm really boring if I go and stroke a gibbon. 'Oh mum, can you not go and do something exciting?'"
Do you still see any of the Changing Rooms gang?
"I see Carol occasionally because she lives in Glasgow where we live at the moment. And I've bumped into Lawrence a few times. I love Lawrence, I think he's absolutely brilliant, and I'm hoping that I might be able to tempt him to the zoo because he's Welsh isn't he after all?"
Didn't he do well in Celebrity Millionaire?
"Oh don't! You're going to bring that up! He got nearly a million pounds and I only got £50,000! No, I had 75 and forgot that you could stick. I nearly had 150 actually. Nearly."
Have you done any of your signature kooky room designs lately?
"No, I'm doing the biggest makeover of the moment on my zoo, but I haven't done any putting pants in frames recently".
How have you decorated your own house?
"Well, because we're moving and it's in the county, it's very exciting and unnerving actually... I have all these catalogues around me. But the cottage is quite cottagey and that's not like me. I normally want to live in a spaceship. But I'm finding it quite revealing that I'm finding this other part of me that likes wrought iron furniture and cottage-looking wood and stuff like that, so it's very exciting".
You're currently promoting Argos's 35 year anniversary catalogue. What would you have been after in the Argos catalogue of 35 years ago?
"I've got a copy of that very catalogue here in front of me and there's quite a lot in there that I would want, remember, and also a lot of stuff that I've laughed at hysterically as well (but that's mainly the models though)".
What's next for you? Do you have any exciting plans for 2008?
"I'm going to try and have a baby zebra and try and mate my gibbon!"
