Small Town Gardens

Joined by top gardeners and designers, Rachel De Thame travels the country visiting small gardens to dispense some simple rules to follow when planning, changing and designing a small outside space to create style and atmosphere.

Rachel is joined by author Will Giles, who uses skilful planting to create an exotic jungle retreat; Hampton Court Gold medallist Cleve West who comes to the aid of a family in Birmingham; and Chelsea Gold medallist Bunny Guinness who creates an outdoor kitchen garden in an awkward L-shaped plot in St Albans.

All types of gardens are created from the space-strapped spaces Rachel encounters – rooftops, modern and even tropical – and Rachel and her guests provide ample inspiration to anyone who wants to transform their small space into something wonderful.
