How to repair bath enamel
You will need:

Car body filler and hardener
- White car body paint
- Car body paint restorer
- Small paintbrush
- Plastic filling knife
- Wet and dry sandpaper
- Drill
- Lambswool buffing pad
- Dry cloths
Your bathroom is supposed to be an oasis of calm and serenity where you can dream of rolling surf and hot summer nights. If your tub is flaky or scratched, it might seem a bit more Butlins than Biarritz. Restore the beauty to your bubbly bathtime by smoothing over the cracks with this step by step guide. If you can paint your nails you can do this easy repair. And once you're done, reward yourself with a long tranquil soak in your flawlessly finished tub.
Time to complete the job: 1 hour plus drying time

Step 1: Mix the filler
Squeeze out equal amounts of the filler and hardener. Mix together making sure it's thoroughly mixed.
Use the plastic scraper to build up a layer of filler onto the chip in your bath. Leave the filler slightly proud of the bath's surface.
Wait 24 hours for the filler to harden and dry. -
Step 2: Sand down the filler
Dampen the wet and dry sandpaper slightly.
Sand the filled area gently until it's flush with the rest of the bath.
Tip: Use a very fine sandpaper to prevent scratching the bath enamel. -
Step 3: Apply the paint
Make sure the work area is dust-free and dry.
Work the paint smoothly over the filled area with a small brush, removing as much excess as possible.
Let the paint dry according to instructions on the package. -
Step 4: Sand down the paint
Sand the paint down until it's flush with the rest of the bath.

Step 5: Buff up
Wipe the body restoring lotion around the area and let it dry for a few minutes.
Attach the buffer to the drill and thoroughly buff the area. Repeat 3 or 4 times for an extra glossy finish.
Tip: A power drill with a cord will spin faster than a cordless drill, giving your bath a better buffing.
