An oak-frame flat-pack house

This couple chose a flat-pack option when it came to building their three-bedroom dream home in a Cambridgeshire village. They had previously lived in a 400-year old thatched cottage, and their plans for building on the new plot of land were influenced by local agricultural buildings. The oak-frame home needed to be well insulated to keep down heating bills, and make the most of views across the rural plot. The frame was built by Oakwrights, and the construction features black weatherboard on the exterior, a brick plinth and slate roof. The total build cost was £248,561.
