DIY it in four hours
A built-in seat can provide practical storage in an alcove. Measure the alcove and get your local DIY store to cut sheets of MDF to size. Buy a thicker sheet of MDF to make the top of the storage seat. Attach wooden battens to the alcove walls for fixing the front panel and lid section. Paint the panels, then screw in position using hinges to attach the lid.
