Spring / Summer 2012's must-have shade
Jan 16, 2012We met up with Dulux recently for an introduction to their 2012 colour palette and key colours this year.
Read on
Fire Cracker 4, a blushing, lively, juicy red is Dulux’s pick for spring/summer’s most important and influential shade. We love it!
This vibrant shade is versatile, working well with a palette of creams and pastels, perfect for those who want to inject excitement into their colour scheme but keep within more familiar colour territory.
We think you'll agree, it’s nice to see a more subtle, toned down shade of red, one that’s finally moved away from the fiery and intense hues we’ve seen in recent years. This is finally a red that anyone can incorporate into their homes.
So, it’s time to be brave and create a statement wall, highlight hidden alcoves or even transform your kitchen cupboard doors with the must have hue for 2012. We'll definitely be giving it a go!
What do you think? Will you be introducing this colour into your home? Leave us a comment – we’d love to hear from you. -
Top 5 - Statement cushions
Sep 06, 2011We’re a sucker for a good cushion and luckily for us, the shops are full to the brim with some amazing decorative offers. Check out five of our favourites…
This stag cushion from Next
(£12) is great for taking you through to the winter months and working the upcoming alpine trend into your existing scheme.Carrying on the animal theme, this menagerie cushion from House of Fraser (£40) has us banishing the winter blues with jewel brights and jungle imagery.Ben de Lisi Home for Debenhams is great for quirky printed cushions but the telephone and typewriter prints (£18 each) are our firm favourites.
We love this vibrant peacock print cushion from Next (£16) and with deep turquoise and magenta shades, it’ll add a much needed burst of colour to a neutral colour scheme this winter.
We love this bird print cushion from Habitat. The zesty background colour contrasts perfectly with the more traditional bird illustration which makes up the bold print. This would make a great accent cushion within a grey colour scheme.
Whether you choose animal prints, text or bold patterns, a decorative cushion is the perfect and affordable way to update your home in an instant!Read on
