What's On
SCOTLAND National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh
All that glitters certainly isn't gold. Silver: Made in Scotland brings together over 350 exquisite silver artefacts in a dazzling display spanning seven centuries. Among the exhibits is the Methuen Cup (pictured, left), possibly made by John Veitch, around 1530. It's probably Scotland's earliest marked piece of silver. There are just a few weeks of this stunning exhibition left, so don't delay. (Image © Los Angeles County Museum of Art)When: Until April 27 Tel: 0870 421 4299.
SCOTLAND The Tall Ship, Glasgow
The Glenlee is a restored, three-masted barque built on the Clyde in 1896, one of only five Clydebuilt sailing ships left in the world. A tour of the vessel connects the visitor with the Clyde's shipbuilding heritage: an estimated 35,000 ships were built on the river. During the school holidays, resident storyteller Lulu Black will entertain children and adults with tales of swashbuckling pirates, underwater creatures and other maritime legends. When: weekdays, April 7-18 Tel: 0141 222 2513.
