SOUTH Brighton Museum
The Little Black Dress is more than a fashion standby. The right garment can transform its wearer from wallflower to star turn. The Brighton Museum is celebrating the history of the LBD with an exhibition curated by leading fashion designer Andrew Fionda. The collection includes a red carpet dress designed by Ben de Lisi for Kate Winslet and a Julien MacDonald creation worn by Victoria Beckham. When: Until June 1 Tel: 01273 290900.
SOUTH Portsmouth Historic Dockyard
Since the Mary Rose was raised in 1982, thousands of Tudor artefacts have been salvaged from the wreck. They form the basis of a family-friendly Easter quiz at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. Peppermills, carpentry tools and nit combs are familiar enough. But what's a linstock? And how do you use an aiglet? Also, look out for an Easter Egg Trail aboard the 19th-century ironclad warship, HMS Warrior. When: March 21-24 Tel: 023 9283 9766.
