Britain's Best aims to be the most comprehensive, informative and inspiring online directory of historical sites. It includes UKTV History's recommendations for the best places to visit, but, more importantly, we want it to include the places you love.

This is a showcase for Britain's Best historic site, whether it be a sprawling royal palace or a tiny local inn – if it is of historical significance and it matters to you, then it belongs in the directory.

Shout About It
If your favourite historic place isn't in Britain's Best, please nominate it. Before you do, though, please make sure your site is:

of historical significance (no skyscrapers please!)

open to the public (even though your auntie's house might be historic, she won't like it if people start turning up on her doorstep)

in Britain (England, Scotland or Wales).

Uploading pictures or video
If you're got photos or videos to share, you need to make sure it's all yours and doesn't belong to anyone else. Your pictures don't have to look like they belong in a tourist brochure either; we want to see Britain's Best historic sights through the eyes of the people who visit and love them.
