Only Fools and Horses
Tessa Peake-Jones

Tessa Peake-Jones

It was back in 1988 that Del first met Raquel - the woman he loved, lost, and then loved all over again. That episode (Dates) ended with Raquel leaving the country, and actor Tessa Peake-Jones assumed she wouldn't ever return to the world of the Trotters.

However, writer John Sullivan realised Raquel was the right lady for Del, and brought Tessa back a year later. It's still the role she's best-known for, although in a long career she's appeared in Pride and Prejudice (the 1980 series, not the Colin Firth in a wet shirt series), Waking the Dead and Midsomer Murders.

You may know Tessa's husband as well – he's Douglas Hodge, the hunky, curly-haired actor who's starred in programmes like Red Cap and Middlemarch. Oh, and Only Fools and Horses, in which he made a cameo appearance as the grown-up antichrist Damien, whose mother, of course, is Raquel.
