Prison Break Characters: On The Run
Charles Haywire Patoshik

Charles 'Haywire' Patoshik

As if life weren't difficult for enough for Michael Scofield during his stay at Fox River, things became even worse when Haywire Patoshik was temporarily made his cellmate.

A deranged genius, Haywire was once known as a maths prodigy at Harvard University, winning countless awards for his brilliance. However, he was also mentally unbalanced (to put it mildly) and eventually shot both of his parents to death. He was consequently admitted to the psychiatric ward at Fox River, where he was given Michael's cell after Fernando Sucre was briefly transferred to another part of the prison. Once there, Haywire became fixated on Michael's tattoos, sensing they carried a secret significance. Worried that Haywire would realise the tattoo contained the prison blueprint, Michael got Haywire taken back to the psychiatric ward after faking an assault by the crazed convict. However, Michael was later forced to include Haywire in the break-out after the latter learnt of the plan. Shortly after fleeing Fox River, the gang ditched Haywire, who stole a bicycle and rode his way to freedom. But will the police catch up with this dangerous, volatile man?

Silas Weir Mitchell

Silas Weir Mitchell

Silas Weir Mitchell originally auditioned for the role of T-Bag, but the producers realised his unique appearance made him perfect for the more bizarre character Haywire. A hard-working TV actor, Mitchell has previously turned up in programmes such as The X-Files, NYPD Blue, 24, and CSI.
