I was also looking forward to Messiah and my enjoyment was spoiled by the voice over. I have emailed Watch to find out if we can switch this function off!

The problem is that UK Mould doesn't make sense! They please themselves and not the viewers.
Mon 8 Sep 2008, 7.15PM
I don't think there was anyone who was in both? I do recall that Up Pompeii was more successful than Whoops Baghdad, and I don't think Whoops ever really got the credit it deserved. Frankie was terrifically funny and was a real talent.

Neighbours - from the beginning? I'm on my knees!
I'm dying to see the episode where Mrs Mangel sings a duet with Les Patterson whilst Rolf Harris plays acompanies them on the stylophone..ooh..and the epsiode with Kylie in her swimsuit.
Fri 5 Sep 2008, 4.36PM
I don't think so. I heard from a bloke in the pub that UK Gold had bought the rights to World of Sport from the 70's with Dickie Davis, and they were intending to show it on a Saturday afternoon! The ITV 7 horse racing will be a bit boring, but there is a chance my accumulator will come up! However I look forward to the Professional Wrestling with Jackie Pallo and Kendo Nagasaki

Well I already suggested Boom Banga Bang by Lulu...but they said it wasn't that..so you can score that off your list of possibles.

Listen..it's all in good fun..life's too short..and it's only a website, which in the grand scheme of things is not too important. I joke around because no one answers our queries, and its not my intention to offend. There are stacks of brilliant programmes which have been put out by the likes of Thames TV, ABC etc over the years, and I can't see why UK Mould keeps on regurgitating the same things over and over. I also can't see why they show a few episodes from a series and just when you get into it they switch ahead throwing the storyline out the window.
Fri 5 Sep 2008, 4.18PM
Yes you can get too much of a good thing...I've been telling Mrs Gaslight Ghoul that for years!

Please not the rape of Bex AGAIN!
Yes, they probably would. lets have a protest instead....lets all switch to Sky..on second thoughts..maybe not. Lets all do a 'John and Yoko' and go to bed for Peace (and proper scheduling). Everyone pull the duvet up, switch on to My Family and you will be comatose for a month.
Tue 2 Sep 2008, 6.01PM
Wise words from Lippy6...obviously someone who knows how UK Gold operates.
Tue 2 Sep 2008, 5.59PM
You can use either..it doesn't matter. have a look at the other threads and you will see that very few replies are forthcoming. We have people here asking questions about Dallas, The Bill, Eastenders, My family ( its true)...and sadly no one takes the time to answer them. I would be happy to do so on behalf of UK Gold if they were willing to give me a channel to direct comments! Over to you UK Gold!!
Thu 28 Aug 2008, 10.01PM
In the words of Hilda Baker " I resemble that remark". I love My Family and we are often glued to the telly when it comes on...no seriously, we are glued to the telly...I blame that Super Glue myself. And as for bringing up cheap My family tapes...i never have! I have brought up a Dominos pizza but never My Family tapes! So yah boo sucks to you!!
Thu 28 Aug 2008, 7.14PM
Uk Gold is currently scouring the car boot sales the length and breadth of the country in order to find new episodes of the Bill. They have( I believe) managed to unearth more recordings of Our family, one episode of Crossroads ( with Amy Turtle and Marilyn Gates) and an unseen episode of Last of the Summer Wine (nahhhh...I'm not believing that) but no new episodes of the Bill as yet.
Thu 28 Aug 2008, 7.06PM
The answer is.........no one from UK Gold gives a jot for the viewers! If they did they would come on here and give you an answer, as it is quite unacceptable for viewers to get engrossed in a series and for the programmers to miss bits out. I spend more time answering these threads then they do.
Tue 12 Aug 2008, 4.52PM
Stacks of them, but they have been re-titled 'Boredom She Wrote',,not to be confused with Diagnosis Boredom in which Dick Van Dyke plays Mary Poppins crime solving doctor...one step down from Scooby Doo if you ask me!

Very normal! My brother in law met a bloke down the pub, who says that his mate is a window cleaner at UK Gold Towers. He said that he was cleaning the windows when they were having a meeting about future shows. It went like this...
Director: Well chaps, it's time to sort out the coming schedules for the next 4 months.

2nd young chap in a trendy suit: Wonderful
Director: Right where's that computer chappie?

Sorry, that was a typing error, I meant to say 'on sale' at a car boot sale. I mean, jokes aside, who would actrually pay 60p for a DVD of My family

Tue 29 Jul 2008, 9.51PM
Seems like a good time to me! Well done UK Gold planning department. Can I suggest you move My Family and Last of the Summer Wine to 3am to 5 am slot?
Tue 29 Jul 2008, 9.47PM
Camberwick Green versus Trumpton
This is a debate which people have wrestled with in pubs, since time began, from John o Groats to Lands End. The debate being, which is the better cast of characters, and how would they fare in a punch up? Would PC MCgarry beat Chippy Mintin or how would Mr Troop fare against Dr Mopp? The biggee would be the the Fire Brigade against the squaddies from Pippin Fort, and I can see that being a real 'rough-house' sports fans. So c'mon Trumpton lovers could you take the camberwick Greeners?
Tue 29 Jul 2008, 9.23PM

Mon 28 Jul 2008, 9.06PM
You'll turn a bright shade of purple and then explode. I'm hoping for a Johnny Seven gun, and a Scalextric set from santa..but it just ain't gonna happen.

Did you know that tapes of My Family are being sold for 60p at our car boot sale. Cheap as chips bargain 'unters.
Mon 28 Jul 2008, 9.00PM
tell you what Cuza, I have the Boys Bumper Book of Knowledge 1968, if you tell me what two questions you got wrong I will give you the answers. I can't say fairer than that and it will be quicker than waiting on UK Gold!
Sun 20 Jul 2008, 12.24PM
No point whatsoever Cuza...in fact no point to any of this...if there was a point you would get someone coming on here from UKGOLD giving you an answer to your query. It would take them a matter of minutes to give you an answer, but if you look at other threads you will see that many people have been waiting ages without any reply. I think the idea of these boards is that you are not supposed to ask questions, instead we are supposed to chat amongst yourselves, praise UKGold or discuss the weather. Bit chilly round our way. how's it with you?
Thu 17 Jul 2008, 7.23PM
Auntie Jean has asked me to remind all those members of the Tinga and Tucker Club that their membership fees are well overdue. Things are that bad that Willie Wombat has had to get a job on ITV as a Weather man...erm..wombat. He's working under an assumed name but I guess you have all recognised him by now?
Anyway lets all finish off by singing the membership song
Woomerang Boomerang look over there
Its Tinga and Tucker the two little bears.

I think you should bring back Muffin the Mule, I haven't seen Muffin in years and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Thu 17 Jul 2008, 6.52PM
Isn't that just like the National Health Service? What do we pay our taxes for?
Thu 17 Jul 2008, 6.50PM
Top Tip:
When My Family comes on, we shift the goldfish bowl from the sideboard, and on to the top of the television. We then switch off My Family and watch the clownish antics of my goldfish 'Goldie' for 30minutes. We then switch the telly back on and hey presto,no more having to watch My Family!
Thu 17 Jul 2008, 4.43PM
Well chaps ...we have a winner! Mr Wilkins at our corner shop reports that an Arthur Trubshaw of 3 Oildrums Lane came in and asked about the postcard I put up. According to Mr Wilkins he said that Arthur Trubshaw was extremely intersted in my postcard as he also wants to see TV programmes from yesteryear ( Camberwick Green..but that's beside the point). Arthur Trubshaw couldn't say with any accuracy as to when Callan, Dr Who ( with William Hartnell..the best Doctor!) or any other programme would appear but he says it could be in the future. So there we have..Arthur Trubshaw 1- UK Gold 0.

David R!??? Who is this David R? David R U There? I bet he's some bigwig Executive, smoking a fat cigar, in a luxury office at UK Gold Towers. He probably spends his time sipping a fine malt whilst watching endless re-runs of Pans People! Come on David ..the natives are revolting! All we want is a bit of info on whats happening. Put down that Glenmorangie and put Babs on pause for a minute and at least let us know you are there? I've stuck a postcard in the corner shop window and I'm going to see which one gets a reply first.
Sun 13 Jul 2008, 5.18PM
The powers that be on this site never seem to reply to any queries...you will just have to live in hope. Bags of hugs from the Gaslight Ghoul
Sun 13 Jul 2008, 5.15PM
UK TVGold splitting into three?
Unfortunately thumbolina you'll never know, as no one seems to get a reply to their questions on this site. You may need to write to them directly as it might be a way of finding out, which is a great pity for all concerened. All they need to do is get someeone from thier office to answer the queries...but perhaps they are all too busy rewinding their tapes of last of the Summer Wine, which seem to never end.
Sat 12 Jul 2008, 3.07PM
As someone who watches a fair bit of UK Gold and Drama I was quite pleased when I found this site. I thought this would be a good opportunity to give a shout for some of the old programmes from yesteryear that were still worth a look. However I've ended up being disappointed by the way the site operates. I mean everyone comes on here and gives a good call for their favourite programmes and then...nothing. Perhaps I am missing something? Surely there should be some kind of feedback from the UK Gold staff saying " Dear Betty Pench, thank you for your request for Tales of the Riverbank, we have been considering this one for some time etc etc.." but nothing. One has to ask just what is the point of posting on the board? We might as well put a postcard in the corner shop window for all the good it does. Has anyone ever got a reply from Mr UK Gold giving feed back on when Dr Who, Q9, Callan are going to appear...if ever?
Tue 8 Jul 2008, 9.52PM
How about showing the late 60's ,early 70's, classic spy series 'Callan'? Edward Woodward was absolutely terrific, as was Russel Hunter, and this series deserves another airing!
