uktv goldkids channel

Sounds like a good idea

There were tons of great kids programmes on in the 80's/90's that never seem to be shown today.

My Family

I think My Family is one of the best sitcoms ever made. Pure brilliance

Emmerdale or Coronation Street

Classic Coronation Street and Emmerdale used to be broadcast on 'Granada Plus' until ITV shut it down to replace it with the (inferior) ITV3.

If UKTV could get the rights it would be great to see some of the old soaps again.

I think UKTV should broadcast in widescreen. As most major channels such as BBC, ITV and Sky are now fully widescreen, it seems strange that UKTV haven't followed suit.

Programmes such as 'My Family', 'Top Gear', 'Vicar of Dibley' are all made in widescreen for BBC anyway so putting them on UKTV in widescreen shouldn't be any trouble at all.

Another fault with UKTV is the cutting of programmes, most UKTV Gold programmes are extended by around 10 minutes to accommodate adverts (which I think are too long as well), but programmes such as 'Top Gear' are still 1 hour on UKTV G2 with adverts, meaning parts of the programme are completely cut out.
