How Good G.O.L.D IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoy gold as some of the comedy shows I didnt see when they was on 'normal' tele and now I can. I never used to like 'dinnerladies' but now I watch it every night!!!

Why isn't "In Loving Memory" shown on GOLD

Was that the programme that had the old boy saying 'i heard that,,,, pardon??' That expression always sticks in my head when i hear people say 'I heard that'!!!

Another old programme was the one with the brother and sister running the pickle factory,,pledges pickles....... NEAREST AND DEAREST,,,,that would be great to watch!!

Is anybody else as irritated as me with the two unfunny idiots telling unfunny jokes

I think its what makes the programme different. I love the adventures of Foggy, Cleggy, Compo and whoever else happens to be there at the time.

Vicar Of Dibley

Would be hard to follow this up wouldnt it? I loved this show and also was sad to see it end. I wonder if they will ever make a new series with the lovely Dawn French as the wonderful vicar. I mean juts cos she got married dont mean she has to leave the village does it?

the chinese detective

Please please please can we have a re run of the chinese detective starring David Yipp in the title role. I am sure many people will remember this series which has not been re run on the channels before. There were a few great programmes in the early eighties which are worth a re-run such as Out, Fox, to name a couple. If anyone has any knowledge of how to get these shown then please use you power to get these shows on the box!! Wink

70s comedy

HI JillyWIlly, Wink The only place I have seen a Love thy Neighbour video or dvd is in a shop in Fleetwood lancs. I agree with you about the rascism, it seems that today no one can take a joke of anything!! I mean if we cant laugh at ourselves then what can we laugh at?? I used to get called names as I have always been on the larger size shall we say but does anyone get taken to court!!! Seems to me that nowadays we are tooo scared to say what we want for fear of offending others. Lifes to short to be serious all the while..... lighten up and enjoy life is what I say cos youre a long time dead!!!

Last of the summer wine

I love 'Last of the Summer Wine'. I never tire of watching the antics of the 3 old men. I love the way old Norman Clegg tries to get out of going into Auntie Wainwrights shop for fear of her getting him to purchase something he doesnt want!!! He is the piggy in the middle each time and goes along with what any of the others want to do. I wonder if they will do any more in the series now that the lovely Kathy Staff ( Nora Batty) has died?? I hope they will.

70s comedy

I am glad Jillywilly metioned Love thy Neighbour as I liked that even though i was quite young when it came on. I said in another forum that I wondered how it would go down today in the politically correct manner in which we have to live!!!!!

Keeping Up Appearances

All I can say to Harbottle and people like her/ him is that you dont have to watch her on tele if you dont like her. There are lots on tele that I dont like and dont even think of casting my judgement on others as everyone is entitled to like who they want. There are lots of American programmes that I find totally unfunny but I wouldnt dream of posting what they are as others may enjoy them. Please dont feel sorry for my family Harbottle as they are very well thankyou and if this a have a dig at Hyacinth fans then you will not succeed!!!
As AndreaC4753 says ' move along there please'!!!

Keeping Up Appearances

I have to disagree with Harbottle!! If you dont like it then dont watch it. I love Hyacinth and her sisters Daisy and Rose. Poor Richard I love him to bits, he sure puts up with loads but he loves his lovely Hyacinth like we all do. I love it when she tells the people who ring up for the chinese takeaway not to call on her white slimline telephone for anything of foreign extraction!!

LONG LIVE HYACINTH!!!!

Love Thy Neighbour.

Wonder how 'Love Thy Neighbour' would go down in todays pc world!! Used to love this years ago, and have never seen it on video except when I went to blackpool and one shop there does sell copies of it. Nothing spiteful or malicious was meant by any of it, everyone in the show used to be taking the michael out of eaach other. Nina Baden Semper, and Rudolph Walker were one couple but the names of the other couple escapes me although can see there faces as plain as day!!
