Gimme Gimme Gimme

If you like lots of shouting, jokes about "gayers" and constant character assassinations, then Tom and Lynda are the characters for you: two flatmates from hell, both man-mad, single and ready to insult each other at every opportunity.

Have we got Hughes for you!
Ahhh, Lynda La Hughes! Shocking orange hair, grotesquely squeezed into lycra to the point of bursting out and full of cleavage. When she's not screaming at Tom, Lynda pontificates on the men who should be in her life, convinced that a male harem should be hers. This has led La Hughes to believe that her lack of action is down to the fact that most of the men she meets are "raving queens".

A match made in heaven
As far as Lynda is concerned, the other problem is that flatmate Tom Farrell is, as she charmingly terms him, a "bum bandit". Her love rival, an actor who is terminally 'resting' due to the apparent stupidity of casting directors, has an ego (and a loud gob) to match. With each venomous slagging and bitchy comment, delivered at high volume, it becomes staggeringly clear this pair are perfectly suited.

Cooking up a storm
Actor James Dreyfus's (Tom) star has certainly risen in the past few weeks. He has recently appeared in ITV's Hell's Kitchen sweating buckets, pulling faces and displaying a multitude of personalities. We're sure James's portrayal of Tom has been the ideal training for dealing with insults from Gordon Ramsey!

"Yes Mrs Patterson"
Kathy Burke, who plays Lynda, is one of Britain's favourite actresses. The Islington girl has been displaying a natural gift for comedy for years, not least on Ab Fab and, in particular, as Perry on The Harry Enfield Show. Her talents extend far beyond playing it for laughs, however - she's a playwright, director and even picked up a Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival for her role in Nil By Mouth.

She's no Gwyneth
Kathy is extremely proud of Gimme Gimme Gimme, as she demonstrated at the British Comedy Awards on collecting the Best Actress Award for playing Lynda:

"Thank you very much. This is nice, it's about f****** time", she told the startled audience. "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme has won f*** all. Everyone hates it, except for the public."

You can take the girl out of North London...
