EastEnders: A Life Abroad
A change of scenery is as good as a holiday and the cast of EastEnders would definitely agree. From Albert Square's daily drudgery to the sunny Costa Del Sol, the residents of E20 have entertained us over the years, but some of their most outrageous storylines come from their well-deserved holidays away. It's never a dullmoment with this lot.
Barry and Janine get spliced in Argyll
The soap stars travelled up to Argyll to the special holiday episodes where Janine and Barry tie the knot. Unfortunately for viewers there's little time to ponder on the stunning scenery as the newlyweds hit a rough patch and a serious hitch in the 'happy forever after' plan. The cast and crew filmed scenes at the Loch Fyne Hotel and Leisure Club in Inveraray, Argyll. Much of the outside scenes were shot on a private estate called The Arkinglass Estate in Cairndow, while the wedding suite were actually really located in Grims Dyke Hotel, Harrow Weald, North
London. Now you know where to go if you want to trace the unfortunate
Barry's steps.
Making tracks in Portugal
Having followed Lisa and Louise to Portugal, Phil employs the services of Dom who tracks her down. Despite a change of heart on Dom's side, Phil has the information he needs and heads to her flat where he breaks in and steals their passports. When Phil confronts her, he asks her to get Louise and promises to leave her be once he's seen his daughter. Lisa knows better though, and flees hoping to run off to Lisbon to find Mel. After a hot car pursuit through the cliff side routes, Lisa is forced to abandon her car and is faced with an unpleasant choice: Phil or a sheer drop.
Did you know: Steve McFadden
Steve went from appearing in Bergerac and Minder to becoming one of the most recognised faces in TV. In 1988 he starred in The Firm with Gary Oldman and in 2000, he added the BBC series Murder In Mind to his CV. A RADA graduate, Steve has two kids, Matthew, born in 1986 and Teona, born in 1997. What does he think of his alter ego? When asked Steve admits he thinks "Phil's a rounded human being I think. Sometimes he's a caring and loyal son and brother, but occasionally he has to beat people up!" That's one way of looking at it.
Brighton: one night stand
Sonia and Jamie may once upon a time have been love's young dream but we all know that love's course does not run smoothly for the residents of Albert Square. A weekend away in Brighton proves the perfect opportunity
for Jamie and Zoe to get up close and personal. After an entire day of dithering, the young star crossed lovers get down to business after sharing a romantic pizza dinner in the bedroom. But unfortunately for Zoe, Jamie is quite clear that it's just a one night stand and that what happens 'on tour' stays on tour.
