Dad's Army The Movie
Sunday 17th May at 11.45pm
Filmed between series three and four of the legendary World War II-set sitcom, Dad's Army The Movie's plot was based on material from early episodes of the TV series.
Starring regulars Arthur Lowe, Ian Lavender, Clive Dunn, James Beck and John Le Mesurier, the big screen version of the television stalwart centres around Operation Dynamo.
Picture the scene. In 1940, a German colonel looks out over the channel from the recently conquered French coastline with his pair of binoculars, only to see Private Godfrey emerging from a lavatory to join the rest of his voluntary platoon to wave a Union flag back in the German's face.
Incredulous at the shoddy look of Britain's home defence, the German could not believe his luck. This war would surely be over in a matter of weeks… surely.

About the show
It's a crack team of spivs, wet blankets and senile old men, led by the fearless bank-manager-cum-strategic-titan Captain Mainwaring. God help us.
