The Green Green Grass

The Green Green Grass

Back in April

After the all-conquering Only Fools and Horses came to an end viewers were left yearning for more. Luckily, John Sullivan was too, deciding that two of its stars were ripe for their very own spin-off.

Since we last saw Boycie in the Nag’s Head he’s had a spot of bother. Fans of Only Fools will know that the last people you want to cross, if you intend to keep hold of your extremities, are the infamous Driscoll Brothers. But that’s just what our hero has made the mistake of doing, and Boycie’s loose lips leave him with no option but to flee from Peckham with wife Marlene and son Tyler.

The series’ name comes not only from the Tom Jones standard, but from the fact that Boycie has become a not-so-super grass. Setting up home in Shropshire at the secluded Winterdown Farm, it soon becomes evident that hiding out from criminals is only one of the family’s many woes. Surrounded by country bumpkins, all out to take over Del Boy’s role of lightening his wallet, Boycie has little to comfort him. Except for his vast reserves of pomposity.
