I used to love the channel when it was UK GOLD, it had a wide variety of shows and not just comedy repeats! It was a channel you could sit and watch. Anyone remember when it showed TOTP, Eastenders, The Bill (I'm talking old episodes from the early years). Then the channels decided to split an concentrate on separate genres, fair enough. Nice to have a comedy, drama, food channels etc, but why not ensure a high standard of programmes to view. To be honest, if I see another Vicar Of Dibley or ONLY FOOLS & HORSES weekend, I might just smash my TV up in fury!

We have stuck there since the days when it was UKTV Drama and our favourite show was shown on that channel also. Our thread is over three years old with some 1074 posts on it. We also moan about the continued repeats but we try to keep each other informed on any developments with the delight of our TV lives. Some of us are enjoying First of the Summer Wine which, of course has just shown up on UKTV G.O.L.D.

And we have "Getting Sam Home" coming up in August!

Totally and utterly agree. Sometimes I think it not worth the money that I pay to recieve Gold as it does not show new prgrammes just the same stuff week in week out. I been with them for a year and they still showing same programmes .Wake up GOLD and sort it out PLEASE.Thats if anyone reads these messages!!!!

I totally agree. Why keep repeating the same programmes. Not just Summer Wine but every weekend (almost) Only Fools and Horses and Vicar of Dibley. It is getting so boring and frustrating as there ARE SO MANY OTHER COMEDIES that could be shown. Maybe the staff at GOLD put the video on repeat and go home !!! Who knows ?

It's great to see Just Good Friends on our screens again, i hav'nt seen this for ages i love it. Also tslking of different comedys being shown could you show Hi di Hi, and Oh Doctor Beeching these are also brilliant comedys just waiting to be aired instead of the same old comedys we see time and time again.

I did actually e mail G.O.L.D to ask why they keep showing the same episodes, and we all know the answer, which is money. It seems they must show the same programmes again so the public don't miss an episode' which is absolutely laughable, as the episodes they show, have been on thousands of times, I'm surprised they haven't worn out yet.

The bottom line is Money. I presume they have to buy the episodes and show them to death, and dont buy any more.

Why should they change the habit of a lifetime. When the channel "changed" they flung in a few "new" programmes but now I see they have reverted back to the norm of showing the same programmes and episodes day in day out. This weekend we have to endure another vicar of dibley weekend which was only done 2 weeks ago. Cant u tell the BBC are in charge. Its so annoying that you watch a series then a few days down the line it reverts back to episodes already shown a day or two before. For christ sake why dont they listen to what the viewing public want. Like minx3 says there is a vast store of programmes/episodes that can be shown. Give us what we pay for. It wouldnt be too bad if these "weekends" were episodes not seen for ages but is it really necessary to repeat the same ones throughout the day - isnt that what the +1 channel is for????. Perhaps they should change the announcement before and after programmes to "made by the BBC and forced upon you by GOLD"
