Hi, I just need advice, at seven five have just been widowed. I have a small back garden, a rectangular piece about 50 feet by 30 feet, it is meadow grass with a few shrubs round the edge and I would like to know how to achieve a pleasant area with out too much work and maintainence. Digging is out. I have all the tools, lawm mower, loppers, pruning saws strimmers etc, just need the energy and expertise to make a garden

Sorry I personally can't help but why not involve family, friends or neighbours. Tell them what you'd like and that you'll buy the necessary materials and that you'll provide a bbq or eats for them in return. Could end up quite a party if you are up to it! A few fit guys (or gals) should make short work of an easy maintenance area for you to enjoy.
Your garden seems to be just a few feet smaller than my own and my husband and I have laid new grass this year and removed a load of shrubs - saves on the work - and we can enjoy sitting out in it without worrying about what needs doing next. We have an island bed (or two) which makes a walk around the garden more interesting. Buy lavendars and roses which do not need to much work, scree beds with gravel and plastic underneath to stop weeds coming through. Hope these ideas are of use to you - best of luck and enjoy the resulting garden. Smile Smile

I'm sure you get lots of requests for garden makeovers but if you could help that'd be great. I moved into the property two years ago and as yet have not got round to the garden. The garden has alot of potential but I need someone who has the inspirations to turn it from a dull grey area into a beautiful garden, which is exactly what you could do.

I'm sure you get lots of requests for garden makeovers but if you could help that'd be great. I moved into a new house two years ago and never really had a garden, I thought I could do all the design and work my self but I have started planting and adding bits but not getting very far its been a year and i still have not finished and iam starting to think i am never going to get it right. The garden has alot of potential but I need someone who has the inspirations to turn it from a dull area into a beautiful garden, which is exactly what you could do. I am fully ready to get out and get my hands dirty and I could do most of the work if only you could tell me how, please come and makeover my garden it would be a dream come true for me to have this garden makeover and so i could enjoy my house and garden for many years to come. I am always watching to garden makeovers on the tv and get loads of ideas but i just can seem to put it all together. I hope you pick me ...

Hi Alison, Ground Force hung up their shovels 3 years ago, it does say so in my post above yours.

Also when it was being made you had to apply to the programme makers, not here on a public forum.
This forum is run by UKTV style gardens, they only show the programmes, they don't make them.

Regards

Martin
