I recieved this plant as a gift around 14 months ago. It came in a pot 3 and a half inches in diameter and 4 inches deep and had a beautiful white flower at that time. The flower itself was gone after a couple of weeks and it has not flowered since. Saying this the plant has continued to grow and is now a whopping 21" in height and 24" in diameter. Will it ever flower again? How big do they grow? It now sits in my living room in a pot measuring 12" in diameter and 9" deep. Is it ok to plant outside, this is the longest living plant I've ever had and I don't want it to die!! Thanx.

Minimum temperature is about 15 C so it will not survive outdoors in winter. perhaps you have fed it too much so that it makes too much leaf. No actual info available to me about re-flowering but try just keeping moist without new feed. It may have got out of its natural cycle whilst being prepared for sale and thinks it is the wrong season. GIve it another six months.
Most commercial indoor plants are out of their natural surroundings and cannot be expected to be happy for long. Enjoy them while you can.

Another option is to be less ambitious and get a poinsettia. On your kitchen wondow cill, with no draughts, plenty of light and kept moist, the red leaves will last until next November ( although they will by then be somewhat dry ).
Cyclamen also grow well and can withstand outdoors. The corm will grow and it will need a larger pot about two year intervals, with new compost.

Hi - would it be possible to tell me how you would grow them from seed please. I have religiously collected the seed heads but I went on holiday in the summer and the plant itself died.

I'd love to be able to say I "grew my own"

Thank you for your help
