Step 3: Plant
Free the tree from its pot gently.Using your hands, carefully loosen up the root ball.
Place the tree in the centre of the hole.
Fill in the hole using your soil/compost mix.
Step 4: Step on
Once the hole is fairly full, use the heel of your boot to pack the earth solidly into place.Use proper tree ties to tie the tree to the stake. One near the top and one near the bottom of the tree should do it.
Shovel some more compost around the top of the hole.
Give the tree a good soaking.
Tip: Always use proper tree ties to support a tree. String or garden twine can damage the trunk or kill the tree.
