Low hedges of box can be used to edge borders and provide a sharp outline. Add emphasis with terracotta pots filled with box, clipped into interesting shapes and arranged in groups.

Olive trees can be grown in sheltered spots, perhaps against walls and will thrive in planters, as bushes or standards.
