Prince Charles pens gardening book

The Prince is offering his advice on organic gardening.

Prince Charles, a stanch supporter of sustainability in nature, has co-authored a book on organic gardening.

The heir to the throne wrote the book, entitled the Elements of Organic Gardening, with writer and gardening editor of Country Living magazine, Stephanie Donaldson.

Released in America this month, the book portrays Prince Charles as a hands-on gardener who is keen to get his message across about not using pesticides and chemicals while gardening.

The Prince describes having practiced his organic gardening techniques for 26 years at his family home of Highgrove in Gloucestershire as well as in the Scottish Highlands and Clarence House in London.

"I can only say that for some reason I felt in my bones that if you abuse nature unnecessarily and fail to maintain a balance, then she will probably abuse you in return," Prince Charles writes in the introduction to the book.
