Many country cottages are adorned by this spectacular rose, it being one of the classic bush roses. The double flowers are the purest pink and are borne very elegantly on the upright plant. A row of Queen Elizabeths is a fine sight on a balmy sunny day.
Price: Expect to pay about £4-£6 for a plant.

Belonging to the group of roses called Cluster-flowered bush roses, or Floribunda roses, this English rose certainly does have some of its flowers in small groups or clusters, but other times a single flower is raised from the main body of the plant on a long stem.

It is such a reliable performer that it has been given the Award of Garden Merit (AGM). It grows tall so good places for it are at the back of borders or in beds where there is ample room. It was named after Queen Elizabeth II in the 1950s.
