September: Crocus

This month's plant of the month, as selected by our friends at online garden centre, Crocus.co.uk, is the crocus! September's the time to get planting these beautiful spring flowers, so here's a selection to get you inspired...

There are almost as many ways to use this versatile little plant as there are varieties. Equally pretty naturalised in the lawn or used to lighten up the base of deciduous shrubs and trees, crocuses can also be planted along the edges of beds and borders and in almost any-sized container.
