Meet Kirsty King

Ground Force's newest recruit, Kirsty King, has actually been working on the show for years! Read on to find out more...

Scottish-born Kirsty has been working on Ground Force since 1997, starting off as a horticultural researcher, working her way up to associate producer and now emerging from behind the camera to present alongside Tommy and Charlie.

Educated at Writtle Agricultural College in Essex, Kirsty went on to work for a landscaping company where she built show home gardens and designed private gardens as well as getting to grips with general garden maintenance.

Married with two daughters, one of Kirsty's main passions in life is motorbikes, but she also likes to play squash and hockey, and enjoys horse riding. She is also a qualified ski instructor and sat her exams for this just a week before starting on Ground Force!

For Kirsty, the highlight of her Ground Force career so far has been the team's visit to South Africa, where they transformed Nelson Mandela's garden. "I got to drive for two days through South Africa watching the wildlife and plants change," she remembers. "I had a great guide to learn from, and got to meet an amazing man in an incredible country. How can you top that as the first trip abroad with Ground Force?"
