Charlie's Wildlife Gardens

Spare a thought for our furry and feathered friends... In a cultivated world, those wonderfully messy, overgrown spots of garden disappear and with them, all the places that wildlife love to live in.

Charlie Dimmock and wildlife expert Chris Baines have set out to bring back the birds and attract the animals in a series that sees gardens transformed into teeming havens of wildlife...

We all know Charlie Dimmock from Ground Force among other favourites, but allow us to introduce Chris Baines, one of the UK's leading environmental campaigners.

He's turned deserts green in the Middle East, created community landscapes in the UK's inner-city housing estates and built the first wildlife garden ever allowed at the Chelsea Flower Show in 1985.

Chris also dedicates much of his time to wildlife gardening. He's president of the Urban Wildlife Partnership and, in 1998, he was appointed trustee of the Heritage Lottery Fund by the Prime Minister.

In this six-part series, he and Charlie travel around the country, combining her flair for garden design flair with his wildlife knowledge to reveal just how easy it is to create a flourishing wildlife garden.
