The Curious House Guest
The Curious House Guest
A fascinating look behind the scenes at some of Britain's most historic private houses, this series is a must-see for anyone interested in our country's cultural and horticultural heritage.
Presented by architectural historian and journalist Jeremy Musson, each of the six episodes sees him visit a historic private house in the British Isles, in the guise of a weekend guest, to combine observations on architecture, with insights into the lives of the owners.
Along the way he explores the social history of the country house and looks at the estate's art and furniture.
In the first episode, Jeremy visits Holkham Hall in Norfolk, the home of Lord and Lady Leicester, and then takes trips to Princess Olga's Provinder in Kent and Stadley Castle, the home of the Manel-Lewis family in Llanelli.
