American Water Iris ‘Iridaceae Robusta Gerald Darby’, £4.50
This beautiful iris flowers early, producing bluish-purple flowers with a yellow throat in May. Like all irises, it’s happy by the water’s edge or in a bog garden, plus it’s suitable for damp borders, woodland gardens and even containers. A form of Versicolor iris, it prefers partial shade and can be propagated by division of the rhizomes in late summer. Plant at a depth of 8cm. Harmful if eaten.Available from: Penlan Perennials
